Nod-Worthy Quotes

schoolbooks

Still working on the less-cluttery state of mind I hit the bookshelves beside my writing desk but as soon as I made eye contact with two pretty cloth-covered books, I knew I was done for the day.

These little blank-paged gems are filled with collected quotes that tickle me. Here’s some on life :

Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life  ~Pablo Picasso

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark and a large group of professionals built the Titanic ~Unknown

Laughter is the shortest distance between two people  `Victor Borge

How difficult it is to be simple ~Vinvent Van Gough

Don’t take life too seriously. You’ll never get out alive anyway  ~Elbert Hubbard

A few gems on writing:

Slow down now, touch what is around you and out of care and compassion for every moment and detail, put pen to  paper and begin to write ~ Natalie Goldberg

The elevator to success is out of order. You’ll have to use the stairs . . . one step at a time  ~Joe Girard

A synonym is a word you use when you can’t spell the other one  ~Baltasar Gracian

Hush little bright line, don’t you cry. You’ll be a cliché, by and by

And finally, the ones I live by:

SOLVITUR AMBULANDO   (it is solved by walking)

Culah is mah liafe

If at first you don’t succeed, try again and again. Then quit. There’s no use being a damn fool about it  ~ W.C. Fields

I plan on living forever. So far, so good!

(This last one is in case the one above doesn’t work out);

Here lies my past, Goodbye I have kissed it. Thank you everyone. I wouldn’t have missed it  ~Ogdon Nash

Maybe now I can finish sorting through the books. Then again—there are those three blue books on the end that need careful checking out. . . . and the fire is so nice. . . and it’s raining again. . .

Hmm it seems like your blog ate my first comment (it
was extremely long) so I guess I’ll just sum it up what I had
written and say, I’m thoroughly enjoying your blog.

I too am an aspiring blog writer but I’m still new to the whole thing.

Do you have any suggestions for inexperienced blog writers?
    I’d definitely appreciate it.

    • Advice? Figure out what you want your blog for and give it your best by being true to what’s inside of you. Not such hotshot advice I know, but blogging is a personal thing. It’s you being you. Or me being me. Or jane blo being jane blo.

  3. Please let me know if you’re looking for a writer for your weblog.
You have some really great posts and I feel I would be a good asset.
If you ever want to take some of the load off, I’d
absolutely love to write some material for your blog in exchange for a
link back to mine. Please shoot me an email if interested.
    Many thanks!
